Katen Petty ’22 moved to Cincinnati after graduation and while looking for her first job, she connected with a Marietta College graduate, and is now an Account Coordinator for a marketing and advertising firm — and her main client is McDonald's.
What You’ll Learn While Studying Marketing

Marietta College’s Marketing program prepares students for success in this dynamic and growing industry by blending business and marketing coursework with hands-on experiential learning opportunities. This program prepares students for a broad range of careers in corporate marketing and sales, product and brand management, marketing communications, consumer insights research, digital/social media management, pricing analyst, event coordination and management, and as content specialists.

Through our chapter of the American Marketing Association, you will enjoy many benefits, from career resources, chapter events, leadership development, and attendance at national and regional conferences. You can also compete for up to $10,000 to support your new for-profit business venture in our PioBiz Competition.
Talented Faulty
At Marietta College, most of our faculty have lived or taught overseas and bring an international perspective. Learning extends beyond the classroom as you engage in problem-solving for local business clients and participate in exciting internships. Students have interned with Disney World, Chase Bank, Dallas Cowboys, Discover, and sites across the United States and in other countries.

Yes! However, the majority of the scholarships are awarded to students after their first year at Marietta College.
- Will I be required to complete an internship to graduate?
It is not required, but we encourage all Marketing students to explore internship opportunities as this experience is a component of your education that will also help in finding employment after graduation. Our faculty have strong connections within the industry, but you should also speak with our experts in the Career Center to learn more about internship possibilities.
