Majoring in Applied Chemistry
The Applied Chemistry major provides Marietta students with a theoretical basis for understanding chemical systems of many types. With fewer credit hours than the Chemistry Major, The Applied Chemistry Major lets you explore all of your interests. Combine this major with another science major to pursue a specific career or combine it with an arts or humanities major to open up a world of possibilities outside the laboratory.

- Does the department accept AP credits toward the major?
The department recognizes the accomplishments of students who have AP credit in chemistry. Any student who scores a 3 in AP Chemistry will get credit for CHEM 101. Any student who scores a 5 in AP Chemistry will get credit for CHEM 100 and CHEM 131/133.
