Dr. Egolf, a faculty member at Marietta College for over 30 years, teaches Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry (Instrumental Methods and Quantitative Analysis), General Chemistry, and Chemistry Capstone. Her research interests are diverse: investigation of the energetics of charge-transfer processes, chemical methods to transfer and store energy; determination of structure-property relationships which relate physical characteristics or biological activity to the chemical composition of biological samples; and, with Dr. Jim Jeitler, development of analytical testing methods for environmental samples.
Dr. Egolf has served the campus in a wide range of roles; most notably as the Director of the Worthington Center for Teaching Excellence, the Chair of the Curriculum Committee (multiple times), and as a member of the General Education Task Force and the General Education Implementation Task Force. For academic year 2024-25, Dr. Egolf is serving as the Chair of Faculty Council, and Chair of the Faculty.
