Kimberly Mason speaks to students in a classroom

Marietta College's Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (CECD) recently held two impactful events designed to empower students with crucial skills for navigating the job market. These workshops provided valuable insights into career opportunities and interviewing techniques, equipping attendees with the tools needed to succeed in their future endeavors.

On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, students engaged in the “Job Market Prep Mini-Series, Part Two: Interview Coaching.” This interactive workshop, held in Thomas 327, was led by Ricci Bailey, Assistant Director of the Marietta College Career Center. Attendees learned about online employment opportunities, effective job search techniques, and the dos and don’ts of the interviewing process. The event was made possible through the generous support of QDOBA Mexican Eats, who provided lunch for participants.

Prior to this, on Thursday, October 3, 2024, the CECD hosted a “Hiring and Information Session” with the Ohio Bankers League (OBL). Kimberley Mason led this informative session, focusing on banking career paths and internship opportunities available through OBL. The event also took place in Thomas Hall, room 327, and provided students with practical insights into the banking industry.

"Kimberley Mason gave us great insights into the wide range of opportunities available through summer internships in the banking industry," said Dr. Jackie Khorassani, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Director of the CECD. "These internships don’t just allow our students to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom—they also help them develop important skills and build networks that will be key to their future careers."

The CECD is proud to announce three additional events scheduled for October:

  • Part 3 of the Job Market Prep Mini-Series: Mock Interview on October 22 from 12:20–12:50 p.m. in Thomas 209. Students can practice answering 2-4 industry-specific interview questions in real time.
