Marietta College’s Fifth Street Consulting, a student-led, faculty-advised consulting firm specializing in communication and media consulting, was recently honored with the prestigious 2023 Ohio Communication Association Distinguished Student Organization Award.
“This award serves as a testament to the outstanding contributions of Fifth Street Consulting to the field of communication and its commitment to providing valuable real-world experience to our students,” said Dr. Cody Clemens, Assistant Professor of Communication.
The Ohio Communication Association Distinguished Student Organization Award is bestowed upon student organizations or communication programs that have demonstrated exceptional dedication, innovation, and impact within the state of Ohio. Fifth Street Consulting's win reaffirms its position as a leader in fostering student development, promoting collaboration with organizations, and delivering high-quality communication services.

In addition to this outstanding organizational recognition, Marietta College is thrilled to share the achievements of its alumni and faculty members within the realm of communication:
Samantha Rubadue ’21 has been awarded the 2023 Ohio Communication Association Distinguished Graduate Student Award. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Communication at the University of Cincinnati.
Ann Nicely serves as a vital member of OCA executive board in the role of Conference Coordinator. She assumed this position in 2022, contributing her expertise to the association's mission of promoting communication excellence.
Cody Clemens is currently serving as the President of OCA. His term began in 2022, and he continues to make valuable contributions to the communication community within the state.
Furthermore, Marietta College undergraduate students Levi Hellwege ’25 (Columbus, Ohio), Addy Black ’24 (Byesville, Ohio), and Tucker Nelson ’25 (Coshocton, Ohio) had the privilege of attending the OCA Conference, which was held at Kent State University at Stark.
