Marietta College’s Edward E. MacTaggart Department of Music is conducting the Fall Jazz & A Cappella Concert at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, November 8th at the Alma McDonough Auditorium.
The concert, which will feature a large variety of styles and genres of music, is free and open to the public.
“This is a concert has such a great variety of music,” said Marshall C. Kimball, Music Department Chairman. “From music that gives the listener time to relax and pause to music where the listener is more engaged with toe tapping and perhaps even clapping along. It’s a tremendous opportunity to see the talents of the Marietta College students. We hope the College campus and public will come and enjoy a great evening of creative music making.”
The Jazz Combo is under the leadership of Jordan Reed, while Dr. Jay Dougherty is the director of Floodstage, a contemporary A Cappella vocal ensemble.
The concert, titled Imagine, will be comprised of music that will satisfy the musical tastes and desires of all those in attendance. The music will range from jazz fusion to a medley of Beatles hits and everything in between. The musicals ensembles on this concert are comprised of both music majors and non-majors.
