Christopher Bowmaster, Instructor of Clarinet at Marietta College, will present a clarinet recital at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 13th, in the Alma McDonough Auditorium.
The recital features the talents of Lya Cartwright-Stroupe on piano, and music by the composers Francis Poulenc, Carl Maria von Weber and Scott McAllister. The recital is free and open to the public. This recital is a preview of a final recital that will complete his doctoral studies in clarinet performance at West Virginia University. Bowmaster’s final doctoral recital will be presented on the WVU campus in Morgantown on April 28th.
“We are fortunate to have Chris Bowmaster as part of our full-time music faculty at Marietta College,” said Marshall C. Kimball, Music Department chairman. “Chris is a superb clarinetist and teacher of the clarinet as well. He fills other spots for us as well as director of the Pio Pep Band and is our music department recruiter. This recital will be a wonderful musical experience for all in attendance at this event.”
