On June 23, 2022, Marietta College will mark the 50th anniversary of Title IX — the landmark federal legislation that prohibits gender discrimination in educational programs and activities that receive federal funding.
Considered by many to be one of the most significant pieces of civil rights legislation in U.S. history, Title IX created academic and athletic opportunities for women and girls at all educational levels, including thousands of Marietta College alumni.
Join us as we pay tribute to the societal impact of Title IX and reflect on 50 years of progress, while also acknowledging current challenges — and the potential for the next 50 years. Our yearlong, campus-wide celebration will allow us to highlight the difficulties in the early years and the positive steps that have been made over the past 50 years.
This 50th anniversary celebration is an opportunity to recognize the strong women who have broken barriers and paved the way for future generations. You can say, these individuals bring a new meaning to Bring Forth a Pioneer!
Stay up to date on all elements of our Title IX recognition and support women athletes today!

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. This year's release also marks the first year in which all teams which qualified for the top 25 rankings with the minimum 3.0 GPA also are recognized for their academic accomplishment.
Marietta College women's rowing had three athletes named 2022 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) National Scholar-Athletes.
