When the Graphic Design professor told the class the next project was to design an album cover, the ideas were racing in Reese Worship’s mind.

“I remember thinking, ‘What a great class project,’ and I was so excited to get started,” he says. “I was thinking about Michael Jackson while designing the album cover. Like a legend leaving his legacy is similar to a meteor leaving its mark wherever it lands and that’s how I got my idea for the album cover. So, I had a microphone falling out of the sky that represented him coming back to life.”
Majoring in Graphic Design, Reese cherishes the opportunity to explore his creative side.
“I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I was looking at colleges, but I knew I loved art,” he says. “The professors in the Graphic Design program challenge us, but they are also always so helpful. They help make your art better and help us become better artists. They are so supportive and always ready to help.”
Another recent assignment that struck a chord with Reese was when he had to design a milk carton.
“I love the challenge of creating something out of nothing,” he says. “I used muscles to design mine. I love having the ability to create something or to bring it to life.”
Before he graduates, Reese will have to complete a senior capstone project that will be on display during the Senior Art Show in April 2023.
“I haven’t given it too much thought yet, but I want to have a good idea of what I’m going to do by the spring semester of my junior year,” he says.
Reese is a defensive end on the Marietta football team and competes in the throwing events for the track and field team. He is also a member of Brother2Brother.
“Once you have the experiences here and build the friendships you don’t want to leave. You can get comfortable with the people here. You are not going to meet everyone at a bigger school. You are going to see a smiling face and when you have to cheer them up you can at Marietta because we all know each other,” he says. “As much as I don’t want to leave Marietta, I’m also looking forward to earning my degree and starting my career.”
His dream job is to work for a game-design company.
“I like to make more creative art, and I’d love to see what I could do for a company like that,” he says.
