Interested in Law School?
Law is fundamental to all aspects of contemporary society. This minor provides an interdisciplinary framework to investigate the cultural influences, ethical foundations, scientific advancements, and the governmental administration of law, along with the interplay between law and business.
Students planning to enter the legal profession are advised to pursue baccalaureate degrees in academic areas best suited to their interests. The Legal Studies minor can be paired with any existing major.
What You’ll Learn as a Legal Studies Minor
Our program was designed specifically for students interested in getting into and succeeding in law school. It will expose you to a rigorous program that includes substantive courses that contribute to the eventual study of law. It is compatible with any major that the prospective law student chooses.
In this minor, you will:
- Have more in-depth knowledge and awareness of legal issues in the U.S. and around the world.
- Be better prepared to obtain internships and perform better in these internships.
- Be able to indicate to prospective law schools a course of study that is focused on the law and legal issues.

- Developing critical and creative reasoning skills that empower you to be an agent of change
- Analyzing legal issues that arise in diverse fields of study and integrating knowledge of social problems with strategic alternatives for action.
- Engaging with issues of social justice in the classroom and beyond.
