The Creative Writing minor at Marietta College provides students with a strong foundation in the craft of creative expression across diverse genres and media. Housed within the English Department, the minor offers hands-on workshops led by accomplished faculty poets, fiction writers, and playwrights.
Through a 12-credit-hour curriculum, students build creative skills grounded in the larger framework of academic study and literary tradition. After an introductory creative writing course, students pursue electives in areas such as poetry, fiction, dramatic writing, creative nonfiction, and persuasive writing.
