Reed Florence joined Marietta's football coaching staff in 2022 after serving as an assistant coach at Wittenberg University for six years, including the last five seasons as the Tigers’ offensive coordinator. Wittenberg claimed four North Coast Athletic Conference titles and made two trips to the NCAA Tournament during Florence’s tenure.
Florence’s offenses averaged over 400 yards and 30 points per game. He mentored numerous all-conference selections, including quarterback Jake Kennedy who owns most of Wittenberg’s passing records. Prior to Wittenberg, Florence served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Millikin University for one year. He started his coaching career at Marian University in 2014 when the Knights went 11-3 and advanced to the NAIA National Championship game.
Florence was a standout quarterback for Wittenberg setting numerous school passing records. Florence was the Tigers’ starter for two seasons. In his senior season, Florence was named the USA Today Division III Quarterback of the Year and the NCAC Offensive Player of the Year.
