Mike Oblisk joined the Marietta College athletic staff as assistant sports information director in February of 2022. He comes to Marietta after spending three years as the Director of Athletic Communications at Ohio Valley University in Vienna, West Virginia. During his time at OVU, Mike served all the institution's 14 athletic programs. From website management to serving as a statistician to providing play-by-play for the live stream broadcasts, Mike had a hand in making it all work. He managed the promotion of student-athletes and coaches with the use of several social media networks and media outlets. Mike also served as the first Sports Information Director for Ohio Valley University in the early 2000s.
Mike has worked in various other industries over the years. He served as a Production Assistant and eventually Technical Director of the Daybreak program on WTAP from 1995-2002. He earned his teaching degree and taught high school from 2003-2008. Mike has also worked in the radio industry for over 30 years.
