Biography

Dr. Miller holds the rank of Professor in the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science with an affiliate appointment in the McDonough Center for Leadership & Business.  He also serves as Special Assistant to the Provost and Chair of the Art Department.

Dr. Miller joined Marietta College’s mathematics faculty in 1999.  From 2004 through 2011 he chaired the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science.   He served as an Associate Provost from 2011 through 2020 and from 2022 through 2024. He also served as the Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost  December 2014 through June 2015 . 

Dr. Miller’s mathematical interests are in combinatorics and finite geometry.  He is also interested in the intersections of mathematics, philosophy, religion, and leadership studies.
