Katy Lustofin

Research Interests
I am interested in pollinators, especially bees. This past year MaLisa Spring ’14, as part of the Investigative Studies program and the Biology Capstone, surveyed the bee species present in Washington County and looked at floral constancy of some species. I am interested in continuing this work with future students. I am also researching the phenomenon of UV fluorescence by xystodesmid millipedes, as well as establishing the range of Semionellus placidus, a millipede species not previously reported in Washington County but discovered here by Derek Hennen ’12 as part of a class project.
