Dr. J.S. (Jim) Wilson, D.M., is an organizational structure and leadership consultant. He is the Principal of the SLOFLT Group, LLC, focused on supporting and helping guide strategically led, operationally focused leadership teams. The group helps clients concentrate on leadership development and engagement; address critical business and program challenges; execute new leader assimilation and on-boarding; develop high-performance cultures, organizational structure and growth; and short and long-term leadership planning. A key emphasis of his personal activities is providing support to individual leaders and leadership teams of youth-development agencies and non-profit organizations.
A retired executive from the Raytheon Company, Jim served in a number of senior management and executive leadership positions during his 29 years of distinguished service with Raytheon. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Marietta College, a Masters of Business Administration from Golden Gate University in California, and a Doctor of Management in organizational leadership from the University of Phoenix. He is a retired Navy Captain and Naval Aviator, who served for 27 years of active and reserve service.
Jim is a member of the National Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America, serves on the Board’s Mission, Reputation, and Strategy governance committee, and is the Chair of the Northern Tier High Adventure Base committee. Jim has been active in various community youth-serving agencies and has worked with foundations that provide funding for educational opportunities. Jim has received various military and community support recognitions and awards, has been awarded the Silver Buffalo awards from the Boy Scouts of America for distinguished service, and recognized by the University of Phoenix Alumni Association with an Alumni Community Service Award.
Born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Jim is married to the former Cynthia Buck ’70, of Manhasset, New York, who he met at Marietta College. They reside in McLean, Virginia, and have two married children and three grandchildren. While at Marietta, Jim rowed crew and was on one of Ralph Lindamood’s Dad Vail championship teams. He was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, serving as a Vice President, and has supported various chapters of the fraternity as he has moved around the country. Over the past several years, Jim has provided seminars and briefings, and sponsored events for the Nonprofits LEAD programs of the McDonough Leadership Center; additionally, he served on the Marietta College Alumni Association Board of Directors.
