Junior PioBiz Round 1
On Friday, February 21, 2020, twenty students from Belpre High School and Veritas Classical Academy in Marietta, Ohio presented their ideas in Round 1 of the Junior PioBiz competition in the Gathering Place on the campus of Marietta College. Round 1 of the Junior PioBiz Competition consists of identifying a problem that is worth solving and describing the solution. The proposed solution must potentially lead to the establishment of a for-profit or non-profit business organization.
On the day of competition, a stand was provided to each team where they displayed a poster that contained information on the problem and the team’s proposed solution. The team members stood next to their posters, described their products or services to the judges and the other members of the community, and answered questions. Top six ideas received $50 each and moved to Round 2.

Second Place Winners: George Carter, Gavin McCartney, Courtney Copeland, Halee Williams, and Brylee Vanmeter from Belpre High School for SNACK SHACK GIVES BACK.
Third Place Winners: Hannah Lovejoy, Dallas Bolen, and Sara Ellem from Veritas Classical Academy for FOLD-A-POT.
Fourth Place Winners: Aidan Nayak and Andrew Smith from Veritas Classical Academy for KINGS OF COMEDY.
Fifth Place Winner: Sara McElroy from Veritas Classical Academy for THE GLIDER SLIDER: a Lefty's Bestie.
Sixth Place Winners: Andrew Hensler and Liam Ritter from Veritas Classical Academy for ENHANCED VEHICLE SECURITY.
