Gallery 310 features You can’t take it with you… — a solo exhibition by artist and Professor of Printmaking at Ohio University, Melissa Haviland — from August 26 through December 5, with an artist reception on Friday, September 20 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. The exhibition is about being swept away by the sea of life, as if the ocean just flooded through your home and swept you away. It is inspired by the chaos that enters our lives—the swirl of daily stresses like bedtime, dinner, meetings, and deadlines, combined with larger cultural issues such as the refugee and migrant crisis, rising sea levels, and climate change.
The Atrium Gallery, which is directly outside Gallery 310 on Hermann Fine Arts Center's third floor is a series of smaller exhibitions of Professor Haviland’s printmaking students. The Salt & Pepper is on the Table, by Alex Long, will run September 23 through October 25. Moth-er, by Nina Battaglia, run October 28 through November 22.
Gallery 310 is located on the third floor of the Hermann Fine Arts Center, and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and by appointment (gallery310@marietta.edu), except during holidays and MC breaks.
