Join Marietta College and WOUB for a special screening of the new PBS series Gospel at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 22, at the Anderson Hancock Planetarium. Dr. David Torbett, professor of religion, will discuss the role of music in Black churches and the cultural significance of gospel music before the screening. Local singer Karen Walker will perform a gospel song. Then, stay for a showing of the first episode of the new PBS series Gospel, which explores the rich history of Black spirituality through sermon and song from executive producer, host, and writer Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr.
