2024 Homecoming Candidates

Marietta College is gearing up for an exciting Homecoming Week 2024, featuring 22 special Pioneers vying for the titles of Homecoming King and Queen. This year's theme revolves around “Reaching New Heights,” as each candidate represents different teams and organizations on campus while fundraising for various philanthropies.

The festivities commenced with “Munchies on The Mall,” where candidates showcased their culinary skills with delectable appetizers and desserts. Each candidate adorned their table with unique decorations, reflecting their personalities and the organizations they represent.

Each candidate is not only focused on winning a crown but also on raising funds for specific philanthropies either supporting or connected to their organization. A special voting link was emailed to students on Tuesday.

Homecoming Week continues with a series of engaging events. On Tuesday, students participated in Trivia Tuesday in The Gathering Place, testing their knowledge of Marietta College history, sports, and local lore. Wednesday's highlights included candidate banners across campus and decorated pumpkins in local shops, infusing the community with Homecoming spirit.

Thursday features the much-anticipated Bags and Barbecue event on The Christy Mall, starting at 5:30 p.m., where candidates and their partners will compete in a lively cornhole tournament open to all students and employees.

Friday provides students with a perfect opportunity to network with alumni. The excitement culminates on Saturday during the 2:00 p.m. football game against Baldwin Wallace, where the King and Queen will be crowned in a ceremony that continues this special tradition.

The Pioneer Activities Council has also added fun elements to Spirit Week, including a T-Shirt Giveaway on Tuesday at noon, a Scavenger Hunt on Wednesday, Navy Blue & White Day on Thursday, and Costume Day on Friday. These activities encourage community involvement and showcase school pride.
