The Gathering Place at Marietta College will once again be filled with students, employees and community members ready to celebrate the start of the Year of the Tiger during the 2022 Lunar New Year Celebration on Sunday, January 30th.
The College’s Asian Studies Department collaborated with the Office of Diversity & Inclusion to plan the event, which will take place from noon to 3:00 p.m. and feature plenty of multicultural food, entertainment, games, craft making and raffle prizes. New this year, the event — which is free and open to the public — will also combine with the Multicultural Festival.
Entertainment planned for the festival will include a performance by the U.S. National Martial Arts Champion, a dragon dance, a Chinese musical instrument performance, a traditional costume show, and special performances by Marietta students and community members.
Guests in attendance must properly wear facemasks except when they are eating or drinking.
