Managing director and senior global economist in Global Investment Research at Goldman Sachs, Dr. Joseph Briggs, will speak about "The Enormous Economic Potential of Generative AI" during a Leadership Q&A at 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 26, in Thomas 124.
Before assuming his current role, Briggs worked on the U.S. economics team for three years at Goldman Sachs. Before joining Goldman Sachs in 2019, he was a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Board, where he briefed the governors on economic and financial developments, led the construction of the Fed’s Distributional Financial Accounts, and conducted research that was published in leading academic journals like the Journal of Political Economy and Journal of Financial Economics.
Briggs also previously worked as an economist with the Vanguard Research Initiative and taught at Johns Hopkins University and New York University. He received an MA and a Ph.D. in economics from New York University and a B.S. in mathematics from North Carolina State University.
He will also make the same presentation at the Economic Roundtable luncheon at noon, Tuesday, February 27, at the Marietta Country Club.
