How To Apply for Financial Aid

Marietta College's Office of Student Financial Services is pleased to offer a guide to serve as your roadmap through the financial aid process. Our guide includes everything you need to know to apply for financial aid at Marietta College.

How To Apply for Financial Aid

Scholarships & Grants

Scholarships are awarded for outstanding academic achievement, extracurricular activities, or community service. Marietta offers a variety of scholarship opportunities. Many private companies and foundations also provide scholarships for which you may be eligible.

When you submit your application for admission, you'll automatically be considered for merit scholarships and awards. These awards are based on your high school GPA and standardized test scores. You will be notified of your award at the time of admission.

Grants are considered gift aid that does not have to be repaid. Marietta College grants and endowed awards are distributed based on individual student need. The College funds these gifts through our endowment, alumni, gifts, and other income. We use the FAFSA Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) to determine the student's need.

Loans

Few students can afford to pay for college without some form of education loan. A loan is a form of financial aid that must be repaid. You will automatically be considered fo Federal Stafford loans based on your FAFSA information. Education loans come in three major categories: Federal Stafford Student Loans, Federal PLUS Loans, and Private/Alternative Loans.
