Information Technology Student Application Form

Students are assigned to work as a:

  • Help Desk Assistant who aids users over the phone and enters jobs into a queue, as well as helping students using the campus computer labs.
    • Knowledge of computer software is a must.
    • Fluent English-speaking skills are important. (E.g., non-native English speakers should be able to communicate easily with native English speakers.)
  • Technician Assistant who troubleshoots hardware and software problems.
    Knowledge of software and the inner workings of computers is essential.

All of these positions require common skill sets and applicants should have completed CSCI 105: Microcomputer Applications or a comparable course.

Additionally, students should be comfortable completing the following demands.

Job Position Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of basic PC and Mac functions.
  • Ability to take phone calls and assist over the phone in a pleasant manner.
  • Assist technicians with hands-on troubleshooting of PC and/or Mac.
  • Help individuals (faculty or staff) with software problems.
