The Office of Student Activities is part of the Student Life Division, whose role is to promote the institutional mission of Marietta College through partnerships with students, faculty, administrators, and staff.

The division provides students with out-of-classroom experiences within a living, learning community.

 

Staff

The Office of Student Activities mission is to provide students with practical, theoretical and fun experiences that complement the traditional classroom education.

In keeping with this mission, the Office of Student Activities provides assistance to individual students and student organizations in the planning, management and evaluation of programs and organizational activities.

Through these activities, the office strives to promote the College's objective to provide enriching activities for its students. The Office of Student Activities is committed to providing students with learning opportunities while insuring a wide spectrum of program offerings to the campus and community.

 

David Travis David Travis

David Travis' responsibilities include advising the College Union Board, managing The Gathering Place, coordinating major campus events and campus traditions, and coordinating Marietta College's Annual LeaderShape Institute. David also oversees the 60 active student clubs and organizations on campus.

Prior to coming to Marietta College, David served as the Director of Student Experiences at East Carolina University. He has also served as the Coordinator of Student Activities at Carteret Community College, Assistant Director of Student Life at Austin College, and the Assistant Director of Student Development at Millsaps College. While pursuing his Master of Science in Education in College Student Development from Alfred University, David worked as a full time Resident Director during both years of the program and in his second year as the Graduate Assistant for Greek Life. He received his Bachelor of Art in Psychology from Alfred University in 1992.

David has served in various volunteer positions in the Association of Fraternity Advisors, Association of College Unions International Region V, National Association of Campus Activities Central Division, National Association of Campus Activities Southern Division, and the Eastern North Carolina Community College Athletic Association.

David holds membership in the Association of College Unions International, and the National Association of Campus Activities. He is also a member of Sigma Alpha Mu International Fraternity.

 

Lynne Miller Lynne Miller

Lynne Miller is the Assistant Director of Student Activities & Greek Life at Marietta College. Her responsibilities are centered on working with Marietta's fraternities and sororities. She serves as the primary advisor to the Interfraternity Council, the Panhellenic Council, and Greek Council. Lynne also manages Andrews Hall including the room reservation process.

Prior to coming to Marietta College, Lynne held Graduate Administrative Associate positions at The Ohio State University in Greek Life and Student Organizations and served as Homecoming Advisor while obtaining her Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs. Lynne received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Allegheny College in 2001.

Lynne holds memberships in the Association of Fraternity Advisors, National Orientation Directors Association, American College Personnel Association. Lynne is also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Women's Fraternity.
